I Buy Myself Flowers
I buy myself flowers
Because no-one else does.
But I don't think this means
I don't deserve flowers.
Sometimes from the market
But mostly from Tesco.
Tulips, wrapped in
cellophane
That will only live a day.
I buy myself flowers
To show that I care
To prove I can be kind
To the girl who likes flowers.
I buy myself flowers
Because no-one else does.
They stand stoic in the morning
And guard me every night.
I buy myself flowers
That sit on the sill
Till they die three days later
Then, I buy myself flowers.
