Virgil Abloh, one of the most influential fashion designers of his time and founder of Off-White, died at the age of 41 on November 28th this year. A great inspiration for many, he paved the way for a new generation of creatives who no longer want to be defined by one single title.

This largely comes from influencers using platforms such as TikTok and Instagram to share their current outfits and clothing hauls; making them a crucial part of our fashion choices. Our generation is now significantly impacted by fashion influencers more than celebrities, and brands are using this to their advantage by collaborating with these influencers and inviting them to events.

That’s where StyleSwap, a new reselling platform with goals to revolutionise the digital marketplace and shopping pre-loved, comes in.

Founded by Josephine Waddington in 2019 and officially launched yesterday (Nov 2nd), StyleSwap prioritises the planet by focusing on circularity and community. It offers a look at and access to some of the world’s most stylish wardrobes. Monetising wardrobes and sharing in this way will only become more commonplace, permanently and positively changing the way the fashion industry works.

Back in the Summer, we covered the Red Carpet Green Dress Global Design Contest. Just yesterday, following a judging process, the deserving winners were announced and, we’re beyond pleased to share news of the recipients in this piece.

Partnered with TENCEL and CLO, the Red Carpet Green Dress Global Design contest enables emerging and established designers to explore virtual design. Open to all interested designers over 21, applicants from across the world submitted digital sketches of a sustainable red carpet design before the contest closed at the end of August.

Largely contributing to ‘mod’ fashion and creating the 1960s’ famous ‘London look’, Quant is seen as defining one of the most important decades in British fashion. Most known as the creator of the famous mini-skirt, Quant’s designs changed the name of youth fashion forever with affordable and easy-to-wear clothing that played into the feminist movements of the era.

As a kid I had a very specific love for quirky earrings; ladybirds, marshmallows, Fanta cans, I had them all. If It was something that’s not typically on earrings, it was mine. Because of this, I find it quite interesting that now at the age of 21, not only are these childish, fun and questionable earrings coming back into fashion, but I once again have an earring addiction.
