Natural or Chemical Skincare? That is the Question
by Elise Filippidis ❀
For a while now we have seen an increase in the division between the two major skincare camps. All products falling under either the title of “natural” or “chemical”. With their respective marketing teams pitching themselves against each other and declaring the other as dangerous or debunked, it has become an increasingly confusing market for the consumer. Natural or organic skincare often declares itself as the only “safe” or “ethical” option. Chemical skincare, on the other hand, promises its consumers far better results than any organic counterpart ever could, alleging that if you want a product to work there needs to be considerable science behind it.

Summer Style for Less: Boujee on a Budget
by Francesca Cooke ❀
Have you been dreamt about one day owning the hottest fashion pieces and accessories from the runway? Me too. Everyone deserves some luxury in their life and now that fashion is evolving and becoming more accessible, we can all find designer dupes to look expensive but on a budget. To help you do that, I have rounded up some of my recent favourite designer dupes that I have spotted.
Micro-Trends And Why You Should Be Aware Of Them
by Molly Chatterton ❀
Perhaps also known as FADS, a quick Google of micro-trends reveals this: other than macro-trends that last 5-10 years, micro-trends are, as the name suggests, smaller, under the radar trends that last approximately 3-5 years. However, I disagree with this. I would argue that whilst some micro-trends do indeed have a 5 year lifespan, many in the fashion industry actually last 1-2 years. With the shocking data that many women’s wardrobes don’t contain clothing that is older than 3 years - it is clear that micro-trends propagate overconsumption.

The Importance of Ignoring Trends and Finding Your Own Style
by Tia Janowski ❀
From colourful argyle sweater vests to 70s style print flares, fast moving trends consume the fashion industry and, with this, we are forced to believe that dressing trendy is the only way to dress. With people sharing their hauls and outfit combinations on Instagram and TikTok, we are constantly updated with the most current trends. With completely new items every week, high-street stores are always trying to meet the demand and because of this, three tonnes of clothing are sent to landfill every five minutes.
How to Tackle the Eye Art Trend
by Elise Filippidis ❀
For years we have embraced the idea of less is more when it comes to style, a minimal accessories and minimal colour approach which I, amongst many others, have loved. However, more recently we have seen a younger, fresher approach to fashion take hold, to me it has a definitive ‘you’re only young once’ feel and an air of why the hell not? This colour-clashing, print-parading style has spread to makeup too.

Summer is here and so it is the perfect time of year to inject some beautiful colour into your wardrobe. Undoubtedly, many of our closets are filled with mainly shades of grey, black and white, right? Colour is so fun and boosts our mood, so let’s review how we can add colour into wardrobes step by step, and as always, have fun with it!
3 Ways Vivienne Westwood Reinvented Your Wardrobe Staples
by Phoebe Lili Scott-Scarth ❀
Arguably the creator of quirky individuality, Vivienne Westwood is the queen of statement patterns and sharp silhouettes. Taking a trip back to the 70s, Vivi’s iconic influence started when she extended the influence of punk rock music into fashion. Moving into the 80s, Westwood’s first catwalk show ‘The Pirate Collection’ sparkled the London fashion scene, featuring sharp cutting techniques and fitted curvaceous hemlines.
Who Was The Real Style Icon of The Parent Trap?
by Elise Filippidis ❀
Growing up I was obsessed with The Parent Trap. It was the idea of switching places with someone, the alluring concept of going to a camp and playing pranks all summer long, and the baffling trickery of how they filmed two characters with only one actress, which kept me watching over and over again. Whilst the film is a classic, I was potentially more of a fan than (I have now come to realise) everyone else was, and I confidently knew pretty much the whole script off by heart. What really kept me coming back time and again to watch Hallie and Annie banished to the isolation cabin, was the clothes.
The Nostalgia for 2000s Fashion from a Generation Who Didn’t Really Live It
by Tia Janowski ❀
A decade of iconic celebrities, reckless choices and most importantly bad taste; the 2000s will always be remembered for its unique and questionable dress sense. Although it’s a fashion decade I’m not sure anyone thought would come back, TikTok has given Y2K fashion a second chance, with many people adapting it to fit current trends. A style now incredibly popular with a generation of people who were too young to experience it first hand, classic 2000s pieces like low waisted jeans and graphic baby tees are taking over both wardrobes and TikTok feeds. With this popularity comes the question, is a seemingly ‘ugly’ fashion era any better the second time around?
In Conversation With Kassandra Lauren Gordon
by Lauren Burns ❀
A conceptual jeweller based in London, Kassandra Lauren Gordon is a name you’ll surely come to know. With her creative, ethical, meaningful designs and inclusive attitude, Kassandra helms a unique jewellery brand with a conscience. We recently had an in-depth conversation with Kassandra about her award-winning ‘This Is My Switch!’ pendant, her title as a “jewellery activist” and how jewellery, something that says so much and outlives us all, isn’t given nearly enough credit.

From easy hacks that require little skill to techniques that require more time, we look at our favourite trends that are bringing a new personalisation to modern fashion.
Are Fast Fashion Hauls ‘Bad Content’?
by Bridie Adams ❀
If you have an account on any social media platform, it’s likely that you’ll be familiar with the concept of the clothing haul. This kind of content is available to watch all over the internet, from YouTube to TikTok and everywhere in between. The trend of buying and displaying a huge amount of clothing from fast fashion brands gained traction in the early to mid 2010s, when British YouTubers like Zoe Sugg, Tanya Burr and Louise Pentland were all the rage and sitting down to watch a Primark haul was every teenage girl’s favourite pastime.
The Best Unconventional Celebrity Wedding Dresses
by Elise Filippidis ❀
In honour of Ariana Grande’s marriage to Dalton Gomez last month, where she wore a backless Vera Wang gown featuring a very Ariana-esque bow, I thought it would be appropriate to take a look at some of the best unconventional wedding dresses that the It-Girls have worn over the last few years. With unlimited budgets and when everything is available to you, sometimes choosing something surprising is the only way to make your look a memorable one. Unconventional wedding looks prove you don’t have to be ostentatious or ridiculous to be fresh and different.
Spotlight On: Rings by Rebecca
by Lauren Burns ❀
Rings by Rebecca is a small, independent jewellery business founded and run by Rebecca Puckey. UK-based, the brand, obviously, makes rings but with a unique and resourceful twist. Sustainability is evidently central to Rebecca’s ethos as all of the pieces she creates are reworked from metal spoons. Vitally, giving objects that would otherwise lie in cutlery drawers or high-street charity shops a second life.
Everything You Need to Know About Laser Hair Removal
by Elise Filippidis ❀
After a year of being stuck at home I think I am not alone in becoming rather lazy with hair removal. Waxing and sugaring haven’t been an option and not having anywhere to go has led to a far more relaxed approach. Whilst of course it is not a necessity for everyone to remove their hair, from a personal standpoint I always feel far more put together when I have silky smooth legs so I have become increasingly intrigued by the idea of laser hair removal and the promise of never having to think about removing unwanted hairs again.
Are Your Spots A Permanent Resident?
by Gabriela Rodriguez ❀
Spots, pimples, zits, whiteheads, blackheads…whatever you call them, we have all experienced them, and I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say, they’re not welcome! The Thing You Probably Didn’t Know…Now, this may come as a surprise to you, but spots are actually a sign that your body is trying to heal itself. Weird, huh? The sebaceous gland is located next to our small hair follicles in the skin and secretes an oil known as sebum, which is used to prevent our skin and hair from drying out. Spots then develop when these pores become clogged and inflamed.
H&M Conscious: Is It Just For Profit?
by Tia Janowski ❀
As sustainable brands and fast fashion boycotts take over everyone’s Instagram feeds, many customers have turned to more ethically considerate clothing options and with this, fast fashion brands are scrambling to stay relevant. Heavily influenced by changing trends, the fashion industry causes an excess consumption of 100 billion pieces of clothing and 92 million tonnes of waste a year. To combat this, many brands have introduced ethical goals in order to become more transparent with their manufacturing process and Zara have stated that they aim for 100% of their cotton, linen and polyester to be sustainable by 2025.
