Double Dare Ya!

My name is Kerrie (she/her) and I’m creating a project to raise awareness for gender based violence. Unfortunately, almost every woman has experienced some form of sexual violence or harassment. You are not alone. There are resources out there for you (Refuge, RAINN, WomenAndGirlsNetwork). I know the feeling that many survivors have been ignored and discarded. Frankly, I’m pissed off and I’m suck of dealing with outdated victim-blaming stereotypes.

Your story matters. I believe you. I’m listening.

Post your story. Let others know that they aren’t alone.

Make artwork, collages, writing and posters. Print and hang them in places where they will be seen - cafés, inside bathrooms, supermarkets, community boards. It’s important to take this to the street - make it so that they can’t ignore us.

We ARE the majority. Don’t forget to include resources like the ones I mentioned. And scribble on a message to get others involved! Tell your friends, followers and local feminist groups.

Spreading the word is vital. They can’t silence us all. When hanging stuff up (& wearing a mask), tell any women/girls you come across and encourage them to also get involved!
